‘Bach is the father, the rest of us are his sons’, said W.A. Mozart with reference to Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. The most famous composer of his time, his symphonies exude passion and turbulence, paving the way for both Joseph Haydn and Ludwig van Beethoven, even for Johannes Brahms. The orchestra’s own trumpet player Bogdan Dekhtiaruk performs a concerto by the Viennese Classical composer Johann Nepomuk Hummel. The Lahti Symphony Orchestra is conducted by the Estonian Risto Joost, who has already conducted some of the foremost Finnish orchestras.
Duration: approx. 2 hours, includes intermission.
