Lahti Symphony Orchestra: Paulo Cello Competition Semi-Final Concert

PAULO CELLO COMPETITION SEMI-FINALISTS

Each competitor will perform one of the following concertos:

Edward Elgar: Cello Concerto
Édouard Lalo: Cello Concerto
Camille Saint-Saëns: Cello Concerto No. 1
Robert Schumann: Cello Concerto
Pyotr Tchaikovsky: Rococo Variations

Andreas Brantelid, Kian Soltani, Nicolas Altstaedt. For decades, the international Paulo Cello Competition has been seeking out young talents to become the new stars of the concert stage. Lahti audiences have the opportunity to hear the second round of concerts, in which young cello players will perform their own interpretations of Romantic classics. The exact programme for the semi-final will be announced during the week of the concert.

The semi-finals will be open to a maximum of nine participants.

Duration: approx. 2 hours, includes intermission.
