Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, acclaimed for his interpretations of French classics, brings the piano concertos of his compatriot Maurice Ravel to Lahti. This is a delicious pair of works in which jazz nuances blend beautifully with the classical ensemble. Japanese fusion composer Noriko Koide invites the most curious listeners to the limits of perception, to absurd soundscapes that have been created only rarely before.
